Laura joined Working Solutions as Chief Development Officer in 2015.
Laura brings a diverse background in fund development, microfinance, and international economic development to Working Solutions. Most recently, she served as a Development Executive at the Center for Environmental Health in Oakland. Prior to this, she held leadership roles at Women’s Initiative for Self Employment in the U.S., as Executive Director of The Alliance for Enterprise Development in Ukraine and Moldova, and in Russia for the International Finance Corporation, a member of the World Bank Group. Laura has been a committed volunteer member of the WS Loan Committee since its inception in 2005; she and her husband are also building their own business, Flywheel Wines, a start-up winery located in the Dogpatch District of San Francisco. Laura enjoys learning about other cultures through language and travel and is currently studying Arabic. Laura holds diplomas from Leningrad State University and the Sorbonne University and received her B.A. in Russian and Soviet Studies at U.C. San Diego.
